Getting rid of items that no longer serve you can sometimes be fraught with anxiety…understandably! If this is something you want to do but you find difficult, start small – just a few things at a time. I think you’ll find it free to make space for growth or just to make more space to breathe!
Sometimes it can help us get rid of things we no longer use if we know someone else needs them. There are so many amazing resources and organizations that can provide your no-longer-used items to someone in need. It’s also a planet-friendly option, as well.
When you’re ready to part with old items, check out these resources:

Savers www.savers.com: purses/backpacks, bed and bath, books and media, clothing and shoes, electronics, exercise equipment, housewares, small appliances, and small furniture

Baltimore Furniture Bank www.baltimorefurniturebank.org: furniture

Green Drop – www.gogreendrop.com: clothing, shoes, blankets, bedding, tools, collectibles, kitchenware, toys, small appliances, electronics, musical instruments, and sporting goods.

Chana www.chanabaltimore.org: clothing

Pickup Please www.pickupplease.org: veterans based organization accepting most things except large furniture or large appliances.

Sell

Give your gently used items a second life by reselling them – – not only is this a planet friendly choice but it can also be lucrative, depending on the state and quality of your items. In addition to the commonly-used social media selling platforms, you can also check out these resources to get started:

Posh Mark www.poshmark.com: fashion, home décor, and beauty

The RealReal www.therealreal.com: luxury clothes and accessories

Vestiaire Collective us.vestiairecollective.com/sell/: international app selling luxury clothes and accessories

Your local consignment store(s): Most cities have several consignment stores (you may have never even noticed them!) and usually have a focus (like kids, women, men, home, etc). Once your items sell, consignment shops offer a percentage of their sales back to you.

Virtual Consignment Store thredUP https://www.thredup.com/cleanout: women and kids clothing and accessories
